Con Edison
To improve its operation and serve its customers better, Con Edison deployed an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and automated meter reading to allow customers to view their utilization. Con Edison has issued a Request for Proposal for AMI and has selected vendors for the systems to support the AMI and for the systems integration effort to deploy the infrastructure.
The new AMI included remotely readable meters and also a wireless communications infrastructure and new systems to manage the lifecycle meter inventory - Meter Asset Management System (MAMS), manage the installed meter data - Meter Data Management System (MDMS), and integrate with existing systems, such as the Customer Information System (CIS). To support Con Edison’s needs for AMI migration, and for changes required in CIS, UTC provided a team of talented resources including business analysts, systems architects, developers and project/program manager, as required, to assist Con Edison personnel. This project began in 2015.
